Preventative Machinery Maintenance
Routine maintenance is critical to ensure that your factory runs smoothly. Dalton Electrical can offer tailored electrical planned maintenance programs to minimise disruptions to your business operations and focusses on the following key areas:
- Inspecting machine panels, cleaning, filters, tightening terminals, rust prevention.
- Conduits, cables and wiring system degradation
- Safety switch testing and compliance
- Co-ordination with onsite managers, onsite engineers and machine operators
We believe un-planned and costly downtime can be minimised through regular inspection and maintenance and non-urgent required repairs can be completed at a time when production allows.
The use of thermography has become a maintenance tool we frequently use to inspect plant and machinery for thermal faults while still in operation. Electrical faults are a major cause of building fires and a six monthly or annual thermographic survey helps to detect potential problems so they can be repaired before any damage occurs. We use only the highest quality equipment for this task and our operators are skilled technicians trained in the industrial environment.
Building Maintenance – Lighting and Power Distribution
General lighting – Poor lighting is a major cause of headaches and fatigue. Many offices and factories can still be operating but only achieving half it’s rated light output for the same energy input if not maintained. We will monitor your lighting levels in offices, warehouses and factories to ensure that they stay above recommended safety levels. We offer energy efficient solutions for your lighting when the time comes to carry out repairs and upgrades.
Security Lighting – Faulty security lighting can go unnoticed for months. Routine checks and repairs ensure your staff and building are safer through correctly illumination of walkways and common vehicle areas used at night.
Emergency Lighting – Dalton Electrical is IQP registered so if we are checking your emergency lights as part of our monthly checks there is no need for an annual emergency lighting inspection for your building WOF. We can also repair the fittings in house to avoid costly replacement Fittings
Distribution Switchboards – Updating of circuit legends and labelling of switchboards aids in the quick identification of sub-circuits and electrical points of supply. We will take responsibility for you switchboards onsite ensuring no covers are missing and legends are kept up to date.
Powerfactor Correction – Having a poor powerfactor can mean penalty charges on your power bill. Correcting a poor power factor can not only decrease your energy bill, but mean greater available load capacity, and improved system efficiency. Dalton Electrical can carry out routine checks of your Powerfactor correction system to help rectify issues before they become bigger problems, or help to specify the required size and type of system if you haven’t got one.
Compliance Testing and Tagging to AS/NZS3760
All appliance and electrical leads in commercial and industrial buildings are required to be tested and tagged to prove their electrical safety. As this can turn into a major job for large clients we include this in our monthly visits and do a different area of the building each time. This ensures your equipment is safe and you are complying with AS/NZS 3760.
